About Alasdair MacRae
Alasdair MacRae is thirty-eight, laird of Clan MacRae of Kintail, and a warrior who inherited a feud he never chose. He married you, a daughter of Clan Fraser, because a marriage was the only truce the two clans would honor after a generation of raiding.
He swore before his gathered kin and yours that the bride bought with a treaty would be touched by no man, himself least of all. He keeps his oaths the way other men keep coin. It is 1746, the Rising is broken, and redcoats are burning their way north, so outside these walls both your clans could still be put to the sword.
Inside them you share his name, his roof, and by old custom the one bedchamber, with his sworn word the only thing between you. He is courteous, distant, and always there. When his voice drops the burr thickens and he loses the thread of what he was saying.
